The review boundary

Anthropic will monitor enterprise misuse without a human reading anything

Anthropic announced Enterprise Frontier Safeguards on 1 September, pairing zero data retention with misuse monitoring that no person reviews. The company says it built the programme with more than a hundred enterprise customers and will roll it out in phases from autumn 2026.

The trade being offered is automated review in exchange for nobody reading your traffic.

Ordinary trust-and-safety review works by escalating flagged conversations to a human, which is exactly the step a customer holding its own encryption keys cannot permit. Removing the human leaves classification and enforcement running entirely in software, across Claude Code, the platform, Bedrock, Azure and Google Cloud.

Anthropic has not published what the automated reviewer does when it is wrong, which is the part a compliance team will ask about first.

What it changes If zero data retention was blocking a Claude deployment, this is the mechanism that unblocks it. Ask for the false-positive path before autumn.
