Printed because it was nearly cut

A robotics data company went from $70M to a $1.2B valuation in ten weeks

XDOF is in late talks with 8VC at roughly $1.2 billion, against the $70 million Series A it raised in June. It sells robot training data collected by teleoperation and has around twenty customers.

A valuation is not news here and this paper does not print rounds. What makes this one printable is what the round is buying: if teleop data becomes something you purchase, the eighteen months a robotics team currently spends building a collection pipeline stops being table stakes.

What it changes If you are scoping a teleoperation pipeline this quarter, get a quote before you staff it. The talks have not closed and the price is a report, not a fact.

The valuation is reported from talks in progress. Neither XDOF nor 8VC has confirmed a closed round.
