From Fugaku
Fujitsu is selling its MONAKA inference CPU into the US server channel from 2027
Nikkei reports that an unnamed major US server maker has already agreed to buy Fujitsu’s MONAKA chip.
MONAKA is a processor for inference derived from Fujitsu’s Fugaku supercomputer silicon, and selling starts in 2027 rather than this year or next.
What it changes Nothing to do now; note it if you are writing a multi-year inference procurement that assumes one supplier.
Nikkei’s article is paywalled and this paper read only the portion served to an anonymous reader. Nikkei does not name the buyer. No Fujitsu release announcing MONAKA’s commercialisation was found, and the cumulative revenue target Nikkei reports is not printed here because the figure could not be read on the page.
