In brief

No EU filing deadline falls on 15 September for model providers, despite a claim that one does

The European Commission’s AI Act timeline, last updated 3 August, sets nothing for 15 September. It dates general-purpose model obligations to 2 August 2025 and enforcement to 2 August 2026. For frontier-scale models the Act’s trigger is an event, not a date: under Article 52 a provider must notify the Commission within two weeks of a model meeting the systemic-risk threshold, or of learning that it will. A single deadline for every provider at once is not how the rule works.

What it changes Nothing is due on 15 September. The enforcement date that already passed, 2 August, is the one your compliance file should answer.
